The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Robert Frost, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
Every once in a while in our lives, we find ourselves in places and situations where we are tempted to linger on even if we know that our destination lies further than this place that is so seductive and tempting. During such moments in our lives, we often linger – trying to enjoy a little bit more, trying to partake of the feelings, the sights, the sounds, the surroundings and sometimes people whose paths we have crossed. We let ourselves be lured into enjoying just a teeny tiny bit more we keep putting off moving on.
For instance, my one-post-wonder – Mahaderang Matapobre sa OFWs, the reactions and chain of reactions that it has created and induced has fascinated me so much. The post has stirred so much reaction that to call the jump in my number of hits a quantum leap is an understatement. It is very tempting to keep on cashing in on the Mahadera… keep pushing the issue to the hilt and squeeze every hit out of it…BUT… my blog as I envision it to be, is not just about hits but something more. My blog is about reaching out and speaking to minds and hearts of people around the world with whom I share common roots. Mush as I want to keep on collecting more hits and comments, my blog has “promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep.”
Moving on is not an easy task. I will have to withstand the fascination of the present and look into the future. I will need to turn my back on the lures of the present. Letting go has never been easy for me, but I have to move on and leave this moment that I find so much fascination in. I won’t be writing about her anymore, I won’t be writing to her either. But, before I let go, I would like to say thank you for everything, it was a hell of a journey. Goodbye.
